A.R.E.C. (Amateur Radio Emergency Corps)
Branch 08 has an active emergency communications section which is well
equipped to assist in emergency and sporting events. It has a caravan
set-up with suitable HF, VHF, and UHF radios. Search and Rescue (SAR) and
Civil Defence (CD) is supported and has also provided communications for
car rallies for many years. Recently a new generator was purchased with
generous assistance from the “Gore Town & Country Club”
